Beginner and Novice musicians should wear “Sunday best” for the concert. Dark colors look best on stage, but there is no need to buy special clothes! Whatever you already own that is closest to the guidelines below will do wonderfully.
Boys: button up shirt, any solid color, with dark slacks, black socks and black shoes.
Girls: Long dress or skirt (mid-calf or longer), or dress slacks with a solid color top and black dress shoes
Intermediate and Advanced musicians should wear “concert black”: Black pants or skirt, mid-calf or longer. Black shirt/blouse at least ¾ length sleeves. Black shoes.
We will approach each season thoughtfully. If only a handful of players sign up for a given ensemble, then that ensemble will play chamber music — a trio or quartet or quintet, etc.
Each player will have a greater amount of individualized attention, will have a say in what music we play, and also bears a greater responsibility to learn their part well, since there’s not a crowd of other players to “hide” in. It is a wonderful growth opportunity.
If needed, I will create whatever arrangements of music are required to suit players’ abilities and numbers.
